Photography has been a transformative force in my life, shaping not only how I see the world but how I connect with it. In 1980, I embarked on a four-month journey from California to Minnesota, hopping freight trains with a close friend. Armed with 35mm cameras and a Super 8 movie camera, our goal was simple: document the adventure. What I discovered, however, was something far deeper. During that journey, I experienced a profound shift in perspective. Ordinary scenes became extraordinary through the interplay of light, atmosphere, and emotion. I began to see beyond the surface, finding beauty and meaning in places others might overlook. This awakening sparked a lifelong passion for capturing not just images, but the feelings and stories within them. Through my photography, I seek to preserve those moments of quiet magic and emotional resonance. My work reflects a deep appreciation for the subtle and the unseen, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and experience the world with fresh eyes. Photography continues to provide me with a sense of peace, connection, purpose, and direction—an enduring source of inspiration that began on my early adventures and still guides my vision today. |
